Tubing, Turkey and Tradition this Thanksgiving with the Frisco Lodge
Posted by: admin November 19th, 2014
Looking for something family-friendly to do while staying at our Frisco bed and breakfast this Thanksgiving? Why not start a new tradition at our “home away from home” with snow tubing and a vintage Thanksgiving feast at the Frisco Lodge. The Frisco Adventure Park opens its doors (and tubing hill) for the 2014/15 season on Thanksgiving Day, November 27th, and it just so happens to be the day we are offering our traditional Thanksgiving smorgasbord (go figure).
A great place for kids to be kids and adults to be kids again, the tubing hill features five lengthy 1,200-foot tubing lanes with lift service back up the hill. Open day or night under the lights, bring the entire family for a once in a lifetime adventure.
To make things even more exciting, as we know you are visiting from out of town, experience the comforts of a home with a free apple or pumpkin pie (and a pie cutter) to the first 50 tubers on the hill! In fact, your free pie might come in handy at the Frisco Lodge’s traditional Thanksgiving feast. Share it or keep it to yourself, but either way it will make a welcome addition to our meal that includes turkey, even more pie, and all the trimmings. What better way to spend Turkey Day in the high country than with a little tubing and a Thanksgiving feast at our Frisco bed and breakfast?
Just remember that tubing reservations fill up fast, and are actually required during peak times, so you might want to make a reservation for Thanksgiving day/night … especially if you want to be one of those lucky pie winners. You can register online or by calling 970-668-2558 for one of the 1-hour tubing sessions (10am-6pm), and the park suggests arriving 20 minutes prior to your scheduled tubing reservation. Walk-ins are accepted when space is available, but the holidays in Summit County are pretty crowded, so we encourage you to make a time in advance.
If someone in your group is not interesting in partaking, the 4,000 square-foot Day Lodge provides a fantastic view of the tubing hill to watch the kiddos, as well as a comfy fireplace, restrooms, Wifi, and lockers to store your valuables. The Day Lodge also has a café that serves chili, hot dogs, nachos, hot chocolate, coffee, and a myriad of other snacks. And don’t worry dad, the café additionally serves beer, wine, and liquor to those over the age of 21.
Located just minutes from the Frisco Lodge, head on out to the tubing hill to get your dose of winter, and then retreat back to the comforts of our Frisco bed and breakfast for a home-style Thanksgiving feast you’re surely not to forget. Happy Thanksgiving from your friends at the Frisco Lodge! Gobble gobble.
