A Summit County Summer on the Slopes

Posted by: admin June 10th, 2016

Although the 2015/2016 ski & snowboard season has come to an end, it doesn’t mean fun at your favorite local ski resorts has to! If you’re itching to get back on the slopes of Summit County, you still can all throughout summer for a myriad of fun activities this season! Keystone, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain all kick off their summer season this weekend (June 10), and the fun doesn’t stop until late September.

Planning a summer ski resort getaway is a great excuse to escape the Front Range heat and make your way up to Summit County for a nice, long weekend! All of the County’s summer slope side fun is located within 20 minutes or less of the Frisco Lodge – making our Rocky Mountain bed & breakfast the perfect place to stay for exclusive access to summer in the High Country. Be sure to call us when you book to find out about special seasonal deals and discounts!

Keystone

Now that we are well into June, Summer at Keystone is kicking off with endless activities and events. From scenic chairlift rides to horseback riding, the mountain is still alive with excitement throughout the upcoming season. And, if you’re having serious snow withdrawals, you can even hit the tubing park for some frozen fun. These are the Keystone summer excursions we are most looking forward to:

Snow Tubing: Fly down a snow-covered track in a tube while wearing your bathing suit! (Don’t forget the SPF 50.)

Golfing: Keystone offers two golf courses with 36 holes. Break out the golf clubs for a day of high country golfing with a view!

Horseback riding: Head over to the Keystone Stables for horseback riding, lessons, wagon rides and summer events. A great activity for individuals, couples, parents, and kids of all ages!

Kidtopia: Local Summit County kids know the Kidtopia Play Park is the place to be during the summer. Come explore the bounce house, bungee trampoline, climbing wall and more, all at an extremely affordable price!

Other summer activities at Keystone include: scenic lift rides, ATVing, mountain biking, boating, guided hikes, white water rafting and much, much more!

Breckenridge

But try those tears because summer is here, and that means a whirlwind of fun-in-the-sun at Breckenridge and an entire resort to be explored! Get your daily dose oof adrenaline on a 4x4 off-road tour or relive your favorite winter memories flying through the slopes on the alpine coaster. Here are the Breckenridge summer activities in which we can't wait to partake:

Breck Flyer Zipline: See your favorite resort like never before! This two-stage zipline will send you soaring for over 1,400 ft, 50 ft off the ground!

Copper

Copper-Mountain-Guitar-TownNestled conveniently between Frisco and Vail, Copper Mountain is a great alternative to Summit County’s other wonderful – yet often crowded – ski resorts. Even in the summer, Copper remains a sanctuary for locals and visitors to escape the crowded Main Streets of Frisco and Breckenridge and partake in a fun day of Rocky Mountain summer fun. Here are the activities we can’t wait for:

Go Karts: Don’t wait for next winter to show your competitive side! Race your friends and family on the County’s one and only go-kart track!

Bumper Boats & Hydro Bikes: Bump your friends across Copper’s gorgeous West Lake on a bumper boat or bike around the like on a hydro bike for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure!

Bungee Jump: Test your own limits for a serious adrenaline rush this summer. Flip, fly and jump in blue sky when you purchase tickets for the Copper Mountain bungee jump!

Free Disc Golf: Grab lunch in the Center Village before heading to Copper Mountain’s 9-hole disc golf course. Best of all, this fun activity is FREE!
