Summer Events in Frisco: Part Three (August, 2015)

As July moves into August, summer events are still happening in the high country. In fact, just minutes from our Frisco lodging are a wide array of activities to suit just about any interest. The following is a list of events happening near the Frisco Lodge during the month of August 2015.
Frisco Concert in the Park Series
The free Outdoor Concert in the Park Series at Frisco’s Historic Park Gazebo & Lawn takes place every Thursday night in August from 5:30 – 7:30pm. These concerts feature up-and-coming musical talent and scheduled for August 2015 is the New Orleans Suspects (August 6), Dead Winter Carpenters (August 13) and Jacob Larson Band (August 20).
Lake Dillon Challenge Rowing Regatta
The Frisco Rowing Club presents the highest (9,100 ft.) and most scenic regatta in North America – the 7th annual Dillon Challenge on Sunday August 2. A celebration of green, healthy recreational uses of Lake Dillon, this event offers a choice of 2 race courses – 2.5 miles and 6 miles – on kayaks, canoes and SUP Paddling.

Main Street to the Rockies Art Festival
The 9th annual Main Street to the Rockies Art Festival will take place on Saturday – Sunday, August 8 &9 on Main Street Frisco. Browse and purchase art from some of the finest artists in the country, as these artists will be showcasing glass, mixed media, sculpture, photography, paintings, ceramics, jewelry and more. No matter what you’re looking for, you will find it here.

Classic Boat Show
On Saturday, July 26 from 9am – 2pm, antique and classic boats will be on display at the docks of the Frisco Bay Marina. The show will be followed by a classic boat parade.
Run the Rockies Trail Race
Including a 10k and Half Marathon, the Run the Rockies Trail Race will meander through the Frisco Peninsula Trails with views of Lake Dillon and the Ten Mile Range in your rear view mirror. A great course for the first time runner, this August 15th event rounds out the Frisco summer racing season and offers single track and dirt road trails for your enjoyment.

Frisco Free Family Fun Fair
Bring the entire family out to the Frisco Free Family Fun Fair on Saturday, August 15 from 10am – 3pm at the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area. There will be a ton of activities to take part in, including a giant climbing wall, quad bungee jumper, bounce castle, balloon animals, inflatable slide, face painting, rolling zorb balls, live music and more! Besides all of the fun events, get the kiddos ready for the upcoming school year by signing up your children for a slew of after school activities.
Circle the Summit / 8th Annual Bob Guthrie Memorial Ride
This 8th annual cycling event takes place on Sunday, August 16 with all proceeds supporting cycling in Summit County. The previous seven events have raised more than $125,000 towards continued Rec Path improvements, an this year’s ride will start/finish at the Frisco Adventure Park, include a Poker Ride and have raffle giveaways.
