Posted by: admin August 4th, 2015
While your stay at our bed & breakfast in Frisco affords you an all-encompassing vacation spot without ever having to leave town limits, you might want to consider heading seven miles up the highway this August/September, seeing as five of the following six events are happening at Copper Mountain, just a 10-minute drive from the Frisco Lodge. So without further adieu, here is what’s going on in and around Frisco this August and September.
Copper’s Guitar Town
Three free days of the world’s best guitarists converge on Copper Mountain, August 7- 9, for Copper Mountain’s 11the Annual Guitar Town. Check out free electric and acoustic performances, free guitar and songwriting workshops, the ArtGuitar silent auction, Custom Luthier Expo and kids’ music activities. Past performers have included Joe Satriani, Buddy Guy and Jimmie Vaughan, so who knows who you might see this year?!
Copper’s Genuine Jazz & Wine Festival
If jazz is your thing, you won’t want to miss this year’s 31st Annual Genuine Jazz and Wine Festival, August 28-30 at Copper Mountain. Jazz stars from smooth to fusion to mainstream highlight the weekends’ activities, but scrumptious food and some of the country’s best wine tastings will further soothe your senses.
Copper’s Cider & Beer Circus
America’s Got Talent has nothing on the Colorado Cider & Beer Circus at Copper Mountain on Saturday, August 29. With entertainers ranging from juggling, mines, clowns and acrobatics, this circus is sure to provide entertainment for the entire family to enjoy. Besides the circus-style entertainment and kid’s crafts, this is a craft beverage sampling event with Colorado cideries and breweries in attendance.
Come celebrate the best of the American spirit at Copper County, September 5-6 at Copper Mountain Resort. This Labor Day tradition features free live music, a fine arts exhibition and a kids’ arts and crafts corral. Starting at noon on both days, come shake your booty with the likes of Three Dog Night, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Country Showdown and Jimmie Vaughan And The Tilt-A-Whirl Band among many others. The Arts and Artisan Festival will adorn Copper’s streets and alleys with fine art from several of Colorado and the West’s leading artists. And what high country festival would be complete without something for the kiddos? Located on the Pavilion Lawn, the Kids Arts and Crafts Corral will keep the kids busy with face painting, chalk art, bounce house and art classes.
Frisco’s Fall Fest
On September 12-13 the Frisco Bay Marina will be bursting with the flavors, sights and sounds of fall in the high country with Frisco’s Fall Fest. On Saturday, September 12 from 10am-6pm, Frisco restaurants will be on hand to showcase their signature dishes in what is affectionately called the “Flavors of Frisco.” Grab small plate samples of food from Frisco’s effervescent restaurant scene and wash it all down with an adult beverage from Backcountry Brewery and Coyote Gold. But, Frisco’s Fall Fest didn’t forget about the kids as a concert, face painting, a make and take art project for both children and adults and other children’s activities will be on hand. The weekend continues on Sunday as Meet the Artist (both days) gives visitors a chance to peruse and purchase fine art items from local and regional artists.
Copper’s Chili Cook Off & Beer Fest
Head on over to Copper Mountain once again on Saturday, September 19 from 2-5pm for The Copper Mountain Chubby Chili Pepper Cook-Off and Cold Beer Fest. Come sample an array of chili blends, listen to free live music and sample beers from around Colorado and beyond
