Get in the Holiday Spirit at Keystone Resort
Posted by: admin November 20th, 2015
What are you doing on Saturday, November 28th besides renting one of the beautiful rooms at our Frisco bed & breakfast? Got no plans? Good, then you can head the 13 or so miles to Keystone Resort to officially welcome winter and ring in the holidays with a slew of celebrations including the Winter Family Carnival, the Lighting of River Run Celebration and Parade & Fireworks. It should be a whopping good time!
Winter Family Carnival
Start your day off with a warm, family celebration at Warren Station from 3-6pm with the Winter Family Carnival. This prelude to the Lighting of River Run Village is a perfect welcome to winter for all ages as parents can hang in the ballroom and imbibe on “mocktails,” cocktails and beers while the kiddos engage in carnival favorites such as a bounce house, arts & crafts, face painting and more. Adding to the free festivities is a live performance by the Colorado-based Bluegrass jamband Coral Creek. So come and get your groove on before heading on out for the tree lighting celebration.
Lighting of River Run Celebration
Continue the holiday festivities from 5-7pm at River Run Village with the 3rd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration. Santa Claus will be granting wishes to all the children while you sip on hot chocolate, nosh on fresh baked cookies, listen to holiday music and ready yourselves for the festival of lights to come. Special holiday-themed goodies will also be available for the kids.
Parade & Fireworks
As if this all wasn’t enough, make sure the kids are good and ready for what’s to come next … a Saturday evening fireworks display at 7pm. While the sky lights up over Dercum Mountain every Saturday evening until April, this one is extra special combined with the other festive activities of the day.
If you want to ditch out of the carnival a bit early, grab the kids and head on over to the River Run Ski School in the Gondola Plaza for Ripperoo’s Parade at 4pm. As Ripperoo, performers and Ripperoo’s young friends make their way to the parade’s end at Dercum Square Ice Rink, you can enjoy complimentary cookies and a dancing celebration.
