Fourth of July At Our Colorado Bed and Breakfast
Posted by: admin June 30th, 2014
Planning on celebrating our Nation’s birthday in the high country this weekend? If so, what better way to experience the heritage of this region than by including a stay at our Colorado bed and breakfast as a part of your festivities?
At your home away from home at the Frisco Lodge on historic Main Street, you will have a front row seat for everything that is going on this Independence Day. Just walk outside our front door and immerse yourself immediately with patriotic pride. The Town of Frisco recommends that you park once and enjoy the day on foot, but our Colorado bed and breakfast can be your central base camp for the weekend.
The day begins at 7:30am with a pancake breakfast hosted by Team Summit (110 3rd Ave.) and ends with a fireworks display over Dillon Reservoir at 9:30pm. After you have stuffed your bellies with sausage and pancakes, grab the kiddos and head on over to Meadow Creek Park (behind Walmart) to take part in the Kids Fishing Derby from 9:00-11:00am. Then take the entire family to enjoy some live music from the Summit Concert Band (10-11am – Historic Park Gazebo), square dancing with the Timberline Toppers (11am-12pm – Historic Park Gazebo), more live music from the Buckner Funken Jazz Band (1:30-3:30pm – Historic Park Gazebo), an interactive drum circle with Peak Rhythm (3:30-5:00pm – Main St. from 3rd Ave. to 4th Ave.) and music from the Ernest Washington Funk Band (7:15-9:15pm – Frisco Marina).
But, perhaps one of the most recognizable events of Frisco’s 4th of July celebration is the “Fabulous Fourth of July Parade” (Main Street from Madison Ave. to 6th Ave.), starting at 12:30pm. Enjoy all the aforementioned live music, food and plenty to look at and cheer on – all encompassed by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and Frisco, CO, the Main Street to the Rockies.
“The best part of the 4th is that the community clearly expresses their passion for this celebration – especially during the parade,” said Frisco Events Manager, Nora Gilbertson. “Chairs make their appearance along the parade route on Main Street early am, kids flock with their bikes to be in the parade, floats are decorated to the hilt and people make a day of it. It is pure Americana at its most authentic and joyous expression. Plain and simple – its good stuff.”
Once you’ve had your fill of festivities, grab your camping chair and walk 10-minutes from our Colorado bed and breakfast to the Frisco Bay Marina for fireworks over the Dillon Reservoir beginning at 9:30pm. Tune in to the simulcast of patriotic music on Krystal 93 – 93.9 or on www.krystal93.com.

As you can see, one can easily make a day of it without venturing too far from our Colorado bed and breakfast. But, one of the unique things about the Frisco Lodge is its proximity to all that is the Colorado high country. If you want to check out the events happening in Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper and Dillon, just know that you are a hop, skip and a jump away from each town’s unique Independence Day celebrations.
