The Entire Family Will Enjoy Kidtopia at Keystone

A family vacation to the Colorado high country is a great idea if everyone – including the kiddos – is on board with your daily itinerary. However, if you have little ones that are not interested in skiing, or whatever activity you have planned, then your excursion may hit a few bumps in the road. That is why Keystone Resort, and its Kidtopia program, can offer a family-friendly respite for those of you looking for kids-only activities for them to partake in. And the best part, you’re in luck with your stay at our Frisco hotel as well, as we are just a short 20-minute drive to Kidtopia at Keystone and all that it entails.

With activities for kids taking place daily, Kidtopia is a festival of fun that is designed just for children, but also one that the entire family can enjoy. Start the day off with a gondola ride to the top of Dercum Mountain where you will arrive at what’s dubbed as “the world’s largest snow fort,” that took two weeks to construct. The snow fort features mazes, tunnels, slides, photo opportunities and generally more fun than should be allowed!

Then, after you’ve had your fill of the snow fort, take advantage of a slew of other daily activities – like parades, live music, ice skating, scavenger hunts and fireworks to name a few – that take place around the resort as well as at the Kidtopia Headquarters. Oh yeah, did I mention that all of these events are free! I really don’t have the time or space to tell you about all of the amazing events that take place daily, so check out the list of 2015/2016 Kidtopia events here. I would like to mention, however, that Kidtopia HQ, located at Dercum Square at River Run Village, is the ultimate spot for your children to have fun and maybe learn a thing or two along the way.

As an added bonus, if your stay in the Colorado high country happens to land on or around February 19-21, you will be extra excited to know that the first ever Kidtopia Experience will be happening over the course of those three days. This inaugural event will feature a free concert with the Grammy Award winning – and Colorado natives – Okee Dokee Brothers, an opening act of School of Rock of Littleton, CO, karaoke, face painting, arts & crafts, an adventure walk, scavenger hunt and more cookies than you could ever imagine. Check out the full schedule of events here.

So, with all of this going on, it is not hard to imagine that Keystone might just be run by kids. With all of the Kidtopia events taking place, tubing at 12,000 feet, the world’s largest snow fort and kids skiing for free with a two-night stay, this might actually ring true.
