A Culinary Delight: Keystone’s Savor the Slopes

If you are visiting our Frisco hotel during the first week of February, have we’ve got just the thing for you foodies out there to take advantage of – Savor the Slopes at Keystone. This week-long celebration of culinary specials from some of Keystone’s finest restaurants will certainly make you re-think Keystone as just a ski resort.
Since Keystone is only a short 20-minute drive from the Frisco Lodge, you can certainly take advantage of all seven days of culinary delight, or just pick and choose the events you would like to take part in. Either way, staying at our lodge sets you up perfectly for enjoying all that Savor the Slopes has to offer. Let’s check it out.
Sunday, January 31
For the second consecutive year, Keystone’s Ski Tip Lodge has been named one of OpenTable.com’s Top 100 restaurants in the country, and this fine establishment is the setting for Day 1 of this annual event. From 3-5pm, award-winning chef Jordan Alley will provide a hands-on demonstration while joining diners for three different demonstrations and tastings. Cost is $25 per person.
Monday, February 1
After your day on the slopes is complete, head on over to the Black Bear Grill and join Chef de Cuisine Michael Albright for a one-night entrée special from 5:30-9pm. Albright will be preparing a meal of Chicken Marsala with Crimini Mushrooms served over a bed of bow tie pasta for $22. Add in a perfect Tilia Malbec wine pairing with your meal for a total of just $26 per person.
Tuesday, February 2
For those beer lovers out there, Tuesday is dubbed “IPA Tasting at 9280’.” From 11:30am – 9pm you can drop in at your convenience and enjoy tasting from six different IPAs from some of the best breweries the Centennial State has to offer. For $20.16 a person, all tastings will also include two appetizers.
Wednesday, February 3
Wednesday only features a free appetizer with purchase of a full-price entrée ($28-$52), but you get to experience the history of the Keystone Ranch while experiencing a new menu full of authentic Colorado classics from Chef Steven Vlass. While you dine from 5:30-8:30pm, Chef Vlass will be perusing the dining room to make wine pairing suggestions and offering samples from his new menu.
Thursday, February 4
On Thursday, Deageo Whisky Amabssador Alastair Menzie and Executive Chef James Demling will be on hand from the Bighorn Bistro and Bar for a five-course meal that is paired with some of the finest whiskeys from Diageo. This must for any whiskey lover will take place at the Lakeside Suite at Keystone lodge at 6:30pm and costs $89 per person.
Thursday, February 4 – Saturday, February 6
For three consecutive days from 11am – 1:30pm you have the chance to visit the highest-elevated AAA Four-Diamond restaurant in the world – and a Keystone legend – the Alpenglow Stube at 11,444 feet above sea level. If you visit the Stube for your $29.95 lunch Thursday through Saturday, your 2-course meal will be upgraded to the 3-course option with a free dessert, compliments of the Alpenglow Stube. All diners that take part in this special offer will also receive a 20% off coupon for a return trip dinner at the Alpenglow Stube or Der Fondue Chessel, the mountaintop fondue hall.
