Beetlefest
The 3rd Annual Beetlefest will carve it’s way on to Frisco’s Main Street on September 11, 2010 from 10 am to 6 pm.
This unique zany event is designed to bring education and awareness regarding the devastation caused by the mountain pine beetle. The event will benefit the Friends of the Dillon Ranger District.
Join us for a full day of activities from The DLM Timberworks Lumberjack show and live entertainment to a bug petting zoo, 4k beetle stomp, and bug slug. If you get tired from all the activity stop by the informational and artist booths to see the latest in Beetle Kill products.
This event grows each year and 2010 will have some exciting new additions-check back soon to see the new elements of Bettlefest!

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest Frisco is hosted by Andy’s Kitchen and the Summit Concert Band. This is the second year for the event and it should be a terrific time for all.
Many people have enjoyed Andy’s Austrian cuisine at events and festivals across the state. Brats, Schnitzel, kraut and more are especially tasty when enjoyed at an authentic Oktoberfest atmosphere. A little German beer and a polka or two will make you feel as if you were on a European vacation.
The Summit Concert Band will be the non-profit beneficiary for the 2010 Oktoberfest. The band has been performing at Oktoberfests for the last 6 years. It is traditional for the town band to kick off the festivities. The Summit Concert Band has opened the day for Breckenridge, Frisco and Denver Oktoberfests.
Saturday, Sept 4th from 11:00 – 10:00 pm
Sunday , Sept 5 th from 11:00 to 10:00 pm
Each day will be filled with plenty of entertainment including:

Blue River Century Tour
August 22, 2010 – Ride throughout the Day

The Blue River Century and Metric Century benefits the Lance Armstrong Foundation in scenic Summit County, CO.
Sunday, August 22, 2010 – Following is the Blues and Arts Festival in River Run Village! www.bluerivercentury.com
One main route and at the final aid station of the Century, you have a choice of 3 finishes.
1. Loveland Pass Challenge – 109.48 miles with 8600 feet of elevation gain.
2. A-Basin Finish – 103.26 miles with 7339 feet of elevation gain.
3. Montezuma Finish – 101.42 miles with 6200 feet of elevation gain.
Metric Century – 63 miles with 3350 feet of elevation gain.
Since its inception in 2008, the Blue River Century has been a “zero-waste” event, diverting 94% from the landfill in 2009.

Concert in the Park

Champions
Remember the days of “Arena Rock” at its pinnacle. The Champions celebrate the iconic Arena Rock that defined a generation and rescued rock music from the insipid and synthetic beats of disco era. The Champions cover the canon of classics from Journey, Def Leppard, Pat Benatar, Queen and more with excellent vocals and outstanding musicianship. Performing the songs you remember with new life. All proceeds benefit the League for Animals and People of the Summit (LAPS)

Every Thursday night from July 1st through August 19th, the town will bring together great music for a great cause. The concerts are free and refreshments will be available to benefit our local non profits. So bring out your lawn chairs and join your friends for a summer filled with Concerts in the Park.

The funkiest blues are coming to Frisco to carry on the tradition of great Music on Main Street. Saturday, August 14th marks the 20th Annual Music on Main is a free concert in the heart of the rockies, and this year we are proud to announce Grammy Winner Booker T to headline the show. You may recognize this Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer from his latest work with Drive By Truckers or from his over 50 year career with artist from Bill Withers to Neil Young.
A great blues musician deserves an opening band thats reputation for a great party is matched by their incredible sound, that is why only the Subdudes would do. The Subdudes famous for there inception at Tipitina’s in New Orleans came from their blend of Drifters songs to their unique sound of the “Miracle Mule” that topped the charts in 2004.
This fun and funky concert in the mountains starts at 4pm with Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights. Lawn Chairs are allowed behind the dance party line. Food and Beverages will be available from an assortment of vendors.

Coors Light and Blue Moon will be on hand to quench your thirst and raise money Advocates for Victims of Assault and the Family Intercultural Resource Center.
Please remember, this event is a no-pet event. Main Street will be closed from Madison to 2nd Ave starting at 6 am.
