Can You Feel It: Fall Is in the Air at Our Frisco Bed and Breakfast
Posted by: admin August 4th, 2014
There are many signifiers that summer is quickly coming to an end up here in the Colorado high country – sometimes causing what we call the “summer time blues.” Our summer season is so very short, but don’t fret, because we, here at our Frisco bed and breakfast, can assure you that a crisp, refreshing fall season is ahead of us.
So, what are the signs of summer coming to an end? Have you experienced ice on your windshield in the morning, or frost on your plants? What about the prospect of kids going back to school soon? Have you found yourself digging through the closet for those “mid-layers?” Are you experiencing panic that you haven’t completed your summer bucket list? Well, the panic might be setting in that there are no more holidays to celebrate, but Labor Day (which signifies the end of summer, by the way) is just around the corner and comes equipped with its own unique set of activities.
One of the most beautiful times of year in Summit County is from mid-August to mid-September. The weather typically stays pretty temperate, leaves begin to change and the monsoon season is finally over. Time to get out and enjoy the weather before the snow starts to fall. So, you may be asking, with some cooler temperatures inevitable, what can I do while staying at your Frisco bed and breakfast? The following is a partial list of activities to partake in during your stay in Frisco, Colorado.
- Frisco’s Art on Main Art Festival: (August 9-10; 10am-5pm; Free Admission) – The rugged landscape that surrounds downtown Frisco makes this two-day art festival the ideal setting for art enthusiasts and novices alike. With art-loving locals and tourists frequenting this show for the past 7 years, Art on Main is a very high quality show with great support from the local community. This two-day festival is right outside the front door of our Frisco bed and breakfast, conveniently located on Main Street.
- Free Family Fun Fair: (August 16; 10am-3pm; Free Admission) – This one-day event offers free fun for families at the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area – just a short walk from our Frisco bed and breakfast. Families will enjoy free activities such as the giant climbing wall, quad bungee jumper, bouncy castle, inflatable slide, rolling zorb balls, balloon animals, face painting, live music on the stage and much, much more!
- Fall Fest: (September 6; 10am-6pm; Free Admission) – New this year to Fall Fest is the Flavors of Frisco! Focusing on art, music and the tasty offerings of our local restaurants, there will be several establishments selling tastings from their menus, take-away art projects, music from Lez Zeppelin and a ton of local art to immerse yourself in. For the adventurer in you, try your hand at the 3rd Annual Mt. Royal Hillclimb, which presents runners with a 1,500-foot challenge. Once again, our Frisco bed and breakfast is perfectly situated adjacent to all of the Fall Fest activities.
If any of the above activities interest you, go ahead and make your reservation with the Frisco Lodge now. The fall season in the high country can be one of the most rewarding times to visit Summit County, and our Frisco bed and breakfast is smack dab in the middle of it all.
